Eagles Resort
ShareEagles Palace, part of the Eagles Resort in Ouranoupoli, enters a new era through a design-led transformation that bridges tradition with contemporary elegance. The renovation will unfold in three phases and includes the complete redesign of all rooms in the main building, as well as the full reconfiguration of the ground floor common areas—reception, both bars, the Melathron restaurant, and the central atrium.
The architect who designed the building in the 1970s drew inspiration from the surrounding landscape and the monastic architecture of Mount Athos. In response, we interpreted the dramatic contrast between the lush, vertical presence of Mount Athos and the horizontal expanse of the Aegean Sea through materiality, spatial flow, and atmosphere. A palette of earthy terracotta, olive green, and deep blue sets the tone, while natural textures and handcrafted details evoke moments of reflection and relaxation.
The interior design references monastic artistry through contemporary expressions—murals, mosaics, and woodcraft—blending heritage with modern sensibility. Reflecting these qualities, the renovated central atrium and the “Melathron” restaurant, where local delicacies are served, invite guests into a rich, multi-layered cultural experience. At the Sunset Bar, a custom stained glass installation captures the shifting light of dusk, transforming each sunset into a vivid and immersive moment.
The rooms and suites stand out for their distinctive decorative elements, including carved wooden headboards and textiles with patterns inspired by ecclesiastical art, reimagined in a modern aesthetic. Ultimately, Eagles Palace redefines heritage hospitality in Northern Greece.
