Kyma Restaurant

Set in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, this hospitality project spans two adjacent buildings—one a sensitively refurbished existing structure, the other a new build incorporating external ground-floor and rooftop spaces—brought together to form a cohesive and vibrant Mediterranean dining destination. The restaurant unfolds across three conceptually distinct areas, each inspired by the atmosphere and material language of a different Aegean island. Positioned within an increasingly affluent urban context and designed to support both daytime dining and evening celebration, the project offers a spatial narrative that moves fluidly between communal festivity and intimate retreat.
The ground floor Avli evokes the sun-drenched courtyards of Symi, expressed through a palette of soft yellows, earthen pastels, and sea blues. The bespoke bar clad in serrated glazed tiling, referencing the island’s iconic harbourfront, anchors the space amidst terrazzo, ceramics, and terracotta. Adjacent, Kelari offers a darker, more intimate atmosphere—a cellar-like interior inspired by Santorini, centred around a stone-clad wine display and wrapped in woven natural fibres and wooden tones. Above, Tarazza opens into a rooftop Mediterranean garden, where olive trees, white stone, and deep blue accents evoke the spirit of Delos. Throughout, a tactile material palette—lime plaster, terracotta brick, rattan, and hand-finished ceramics—celebrates Greek artisan craftsmanship, while the spatial rhythm encourages spontaneity, from long, shared meals to evenings of dance and revelry.
