Located in a typical residential building of the '60s in the center of Athens, the apartment was renovated to comply with the lives of a young couple.
The whole space (90m2) was originally designed with various interior divisions which created several rooms. The architects preserved the idea of having a series of partitions only in the social areas of the house - an axis created by the living room, the dining room and the office dramatically reviled as sets of sliding doors open and lead from one space to another.
The kitchen and the bathroom were totally renovated to serve the needs of the new residents. The bright red colored kitchen module dominates the space, underlining the addition of the new object.
Removing old partitions, the new bathroom was designed as dark, lava colored space which resembles a box. The light reflects in the only light colour object of the space, the oak cabinet.
The wooden floors were renovated and mosaic floors revealed to combine with metallic furniture specially designed for the dwelling and objects of cotemporary design.
